MINI 2 SMOKER for THE H.O.W. RALLY & RACE!!

The 2012 Hell On Wheels Rally & Vintage Scramble is coming up this June and it was perfect timing to stumble across this '74 Yamaha MX 100 a few weeks back. It doesn't run, but that shouldn't be a problem, I blew up my MX 360 two weeks before last years H.O.W. Rally and still got it running for the race!! Hahahaha... so atleast I have a few months to get this little 2 smoker running for the Mini Class!! Check out the folding rear foot pegs and the foam fork guards!! Sweet!

Painted my brains out on these and now they're finally hanging up at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach! They measure 16"x18" and they're painted on 1/8" sheet metal with One Shot enamel and mounted to a sheet of 1/2" thick varnished plywood.

My Pops painted this for me when I was a youngster sometime around '89 and he had Kelly's Krazy Painters do the numbers an lettering. Thanks Dad! Custom helmet paint was all the rage from the mid 80's through to the late 90's, but when helmets started showing up on the shelves with digital graphics printed on them, the custom paint disappeared.

If you've ever wondered why I'm not a fan of jet boats...this is why. When a jet boat loses power, the pump nozzle which basically steers the boat has no flow to direct the boat, so the boat will turn whichever way it feels. In this case it was a "right turn clyde"!! More to follow...

During an overnighter at El Mirage about 7 years ago on a loop around Shadow Mountain I flew past a green blur on a small uphill. I turned around and found this Old Gumby doll. The thing was roached. Looked like it had been there for years and years!! A few weeks went buy and I was cleaning out my truck after a few beers and I found Ol' Gumby... then I staged this photo and got a few laughs out of friends. Rediscoverd it today and thought it'd be worth sharing!!

I think anyone who raced saturday is still stoked, what a bitchin' day! My Pops, My buddy Aaron and I all took first in our classes!! Meatball sure puts on a bitchin' show, just wish he had them more than once a year!! Check out the guy looking at my Pops #27 pass him in the corner! Aaron Fitz #86 got second in the first moto with a broken foot peg! After he had it welded back on and won the second moto!! Scotty Stopnik #55 was hauling ass on his '55 Triumph and with his kickstand flapping in the breeze he was sailing that thing...huge air time!! Scotty came out in the second modern mini moto on a newer XR 100 against my early 1982 XR 80 and we banged bars for 4 laps until my front tire got hung up in his rear well and I took a digger!! I'm already planning my revenge for next year Scotty!!

It's a real shame when 12 days before your first vintage motocross race that you've been dreaming about for a year ends like this. So after doing some research it turns out that a 4th bore piston for a '73-74 MX360 is extremely rare altough I managed to track one down from a guy back east who has them custom made by Wiesco. I'm picking up the cylinder from the machine shop tomorrow and slamming this thing back together just in time for Meatball's Hell On Wheels Rally this Saturday! Cutting it close? Not at all!

The '74 MX 360 I bought had an old school fiberglass desert tank on it, although the cast aluminum octagon gas cap is bitchin', the petcock threads are toast. So I found an original tank from a '73 ( they were silver) and transformed it into a '74 tank all while listening to Elvin Bishop on 8 track!

A buddy from work called me up and asked if I'd be interested in a 1959 Greeves Hawkstone Scrambler with an original 250cc Villers 2 stroke engine!! I said, "is it running?" He said, "not quite, it's all in pieces on a pallet!!" "I said how much?!" He said, "$50!!" "I said SOLD!!" This obviously isn't the same bike in the photo, but definitely what it could be...one day!! Too bad it's too late to build up for Meatball's Scramble!! I'll take a photo of the pile of parts soon! Meanwhile heres what happened to my ankle last year...this year I'll probably wear boots!!

Recently I talked him into buying a friends used CRF 450 and we started riding together. April 2001, sh*tty service at a restaurant before we went to ride the Lake Elsinore MX Track, left a penny for the waiter...3 hours later I ate sh*t goofing off doing no handers off a 100 foot tabletop. Compound distal radius fracture, 2 pins, a plate with 6 screws an a bone graft from my left hip to replace the missing bones in my right wrist. Maybe it was the fact that I was jumping a dinosaur XR 400 like an idiot but since then I've always tipped well !! Karma?

Came across this photo laminated on thick cardboard of Goat Breker at the Long Beach Cycle Swap and couldn't turn it down for the low low price of $10!! I grew up watching him race with CMC and Todd "Goat" Breker would eventually start GFI Racing and even though that fell apart, he now owns the small desert town of Ridgecrest and is restoring the town and preserving the surrounding areas for riding. Thanks Goat!!

Got an email from my buddy Cheyne, looks like he's trying to get rid of his '29 RPU...pull out yer wallets folks!!

-All steel Ford body with a few patch panels. *They were in there when I got it so I left them.*Doors open close nice but it has some rust on the inner door down low.*Sitting on Model A frame that has pitting but adds to the look without compromising strength. Bed is straight but not perfect but looks great as is. Somebody welded in a steel floor in replace of the wood floor so I left it. Fuel tank is still in the cowl with no leaks and the gauge works. Electric fuel pump.
-New body wood.*
-Original '32 Ford shell and insert. Cut down on the side to fit '29. Insert could use a few grill bars but it lends to the character of the roadster.*
- Windshield is chopped 3" and laid back 3" with new glass.*
-Model A four cylinder motor. Bored .125 over (214 c.i), hi-compression head (6:1) 4 into 2 header, dual 2" straight pipes, mild cam, adjustable valves, leakless water pump, downdraft intake and a single Holley 94 carb with '32 Ford model B spoon pedal.*
-'39 Merc (99A) transmission with Cling's kit for the A motor.*
-new V8 clutch with lightened Model A flywheel (42lbs)
-12 volts with new alternator, ignition system
-cloth wiring thru out with 6 fuse panel hidden away. Has horn, turn signals and everything works as it should.*
-'39/'40 brakes with all new wheel cylinders, shoes, hoses and hard lines. I used virgin '39 drums that I had freshly cut.
-16" '37-39 Ford wheels with '39 Merc hubcaps and custom trim rings.*
- brand new black wall Firestones 7.50/16 rear & 6.00/16 up front with new tubes all around. *
-custom battery box/master cylinder set up with brand new Odyssey battery.*
-fresh Model A rear end with 3.77 gears.*
-34 Chevy headlights, '39 Chev front markers for signal lamps and '32 Ford rear tail lights.
-Model A steering box & shorter pitman arm with custom column tube and '40 Ford steering wheel
-new leather seat
-come with custom top frame that folds but I didn't have a top made for it.*

recently put a new Walker Radiator in it, yet to make mounts for the 32 grill shell.
- also had a custom button on canvas tan cover made for the bed. fits nice and snug and is very usefull
love the car drive it around once twice a week, but looking to get a old van to camp and haul my surfboards around with. something a lil more practical for my lifestyle.

would like to keep the sale local, but have sold cars out of state and delt with hauling companys. something that the buyer would have to completly take care of.
